A HUMAN FIEND
FITTING END OF A YQUUG GXBX. j (Received 12.30 p.m.) BERLIN, July 25. ! Two hundred spectators witnessed the guillotining of Crete Brie* i n the court-y.-.rd of the gaol of Freiberg. The murderess met her doom in a penitent and composed attitude. Crete Bries, a beautiful girl, 22 years of age. the daughter of a former burgomaster of Brand. Saxony, was sentenced to death for killing Herr Pressler, her j fiance, at Chemnitz, and forging his will lin her favour. She also forged documents suggesting that he committed suicide. The crime was especially sensational b- ,,- ---•cause of the cold-blooded manner in J which the girl carried out the deed. j Visiting Pressler in his rooms, she asked him to close his eyes and open his month and she would give him something. Inserting a revolver between the teeth of the unsuspecting young man, she fired, , killing him instantly. Then Grete Bries j disposed everything in such a manner that there should be strong presumptive ■ evidence of suicide.
