HARBOUR BOARD.

The tegular meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board was held yesterday afternoon, the Hon. E. Mitchelson presiding. More Slips Wanted. — The secretary of the New Zealand Shipowners' Federation wrote urging the pressing necessity for the provision of slips In the harbour for repairing the smaller, class of steamers, and also scows, and further suggested a double slip, one to.be used for steamere, und the other for scows and sailing vessels. Account for Storage. — The District Trafuc Manager, Mr T. W. Walte, wrote stating that the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co. had asked hie department to settle the account of £3 5/ for the storage o"f manure, ex s.s. Westfalen. The Westfalen discharged a large quantity of manure' at the railway w-harf, including 100 : bags of .potash for the Farmers' Freezing Company, for which the Department accepted the Company's consignment note. Owing to the heavy- rush of traffic, the Department was unable to' provide trucks at the time. It was admitted that the potash should have been removed earlier, and in future, after a'consignment note is accepted, goods will be loaded ahfl removed without delay.
