'~ i Woodside deputation from the ■residents of Woodside asked the Board to erect a side school, on the ground that the distance was too 'far for .children to travel to Papatoetoe. The Minister for Education had visited the district, aud had agreed that there was a legitimate claim for a. school. It was. resolved to ask the Chief Inspector to. report as soon as the application was made for a school. . . . Chairman's Report.—The Chairman, in his report, stated that advice had been received, from the Minister of an increase in the Kdendale school grant, to £550 towards the purchase .of a school site, and £1788 towards the cost of a school building. In connection with the removal of the teacher"s residence at Waimana, ' the foreman had been instructed to make another attempt-to remove the building, as suggested by the lUnister for Education. .. % Keport of Teachers' Selection- Committee.—(l) The Committee recommended that chu following appointments should be authorised by the Board:—Mr Edgar V.
