The visit of the American Annadi '■''__T not to be the only attraction of ""Fleet '< Week/* and very considerable interest is being taken in the display 0 f i ocal products and manufactures, which has been inaugurated by the Auckland Provincial Industrial Association. Duxine the week of the American fleet's visit nearly all the principal shop windows I in the main business thoroughfares'will be given over solely to a display of | New Zealand made goods. These manufactures will be set forth in attractive style, and visitors to Auckland, no" matter what shop window they turn to Will be confronted with interesting exhibitions bearing the notification "Made in New Zealand." The display is bein» «_! ranged with a view to acquainting the general public more fully with the yrii» scope of local manufactures, and the excellent standard of the goods made with- ' in the Dominion. It was originally proposed to confine the exhibition to a shop window display, but it is now understood thajt "§,'. collective exhibit will also be made in _ ■■-. large central hall of those local manufactures which cannot be shown in the windows. This matter, aud other datails in connection with the 'local in-- ■ dnstries week," will be decided upon at a meeting of manufacturers, to* lit \ held during the week. Merchants and others, says Mr. Maekie, are taking a very keen interest in the proposal, and are lending every assistance, and providing funds for tke furtherance of the scheme. The result is that a considerable sum has been collected, and there is every indication that the display of New Zealand manufactures during fleet week will be a JmjJ® success.
