A " HOUSE " OF £5000. PARIS, June 12. Madame Melba met with an extraordinary reception upon her appearance in "Rigoletto" at the Paris Opera House. President Fallieres was present. The performance was given in aid of the Authors' Society, and the receipts totalled 130,000 fr.ncs (roughly £5400). As much as £12 was paid for a single seat.
