HURRICANE IN THE ISLANDS.

MANY LIVES LOST. UNKNOWN VESSEL WRECKED. (Received 10.7 a.m.) PORT DARWIN, this day. Information from Koepang, on the Island of Timor, in the Lesser Simda Islands, of the East Indies, shows that the hurricane which visited Broome and did such extensive damage to the pearling fleet, extended to the islands of Letti, Kisser, Wetter, and Babber, to the east of Timor, causing much damage to property and the loss of many lives. A report is current in Koepang that a large iron steamer went ashore on the Rowley Shoals. Much fresh wreckage, evidently belonging to a large steamer, was found. ""
