The Jlstatua is loading explosives at tie Powder Ground preparatory to sailingfor the South to complete her discharge of ijcmdon cargo. The barquentine Ysabel arrived from the Friendly Islands and Nine as this column went to Press this afternoon. The sale has been completed of the steamer Toroa (38S tons gross), which has been disposed of by Messrs Richardson and Co.. of Napier, to Messrs Holyman and Son of Launcestou. The vessel is to replace the I lost steamer Orion in the Tasmanian trade ! The Union Company effected the transaction. It is announced that the Shaw, Savill ana Albion Company's s-s. Karamea is to commence leading for London next Monday, wliea she is supposed to leave Port Chalmers for Oamaru, Timarn, Wellington, Gisborae. and Auckland, picking up cargo at each port in turn. She is to sail for LondoD imam Auckland on June 20. A Wellington exchange reports the arrira! of the scow Haere from Karamea, j after experiencing a sever bcSeting in Cooks Strait. Departure was taken on May 22, and variable winds were encountered until approaching Terawhiti. Here a hard southerly was met with, which compelled the vessel to seek shelter behind Guards Bank. Last Saturday the Haere made another sttempt to reach Wellington, and up the Strait experienced the southerly gale which visited Wellington. Her cargo for Wellington is about 70.000 ft of timber. As the Haere's present charter has expired, it is expected she will proceed to Auckland about the end of this wse!-
