CLOSING THE CEMETERY.
PROVISION FOR. PUBLIC BATHS.
The City Council decided last night, on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, to instruct the city solicitor to draft a bill to absolutely close the Svincmds-SFtreet cemeteries on 31st December, 1909, and to vest them ia the Auckland City Council in terms of the Cemeteries Act, ISS2, section 79, and to provide for the portion at the corner of Svmonds-street and Karangahape-road being utilised. lor the purposes of public baths.
