ROYAL TTFrF,F COT AT 1000 FELT. (By Telesraph.—Own Correspondent.; WAIHI, this da;*. A great deal of satisfaction exists here ever the intersection of the Royal lode at the 'Waihi Company's No, 8, or the 3000 ft. level. The reef struck is 103 ft. irom the shaft, and has so far been penetrated twelve feet. This lode, which is ivery compact, promises to be even larger than where met with in No. S level, the reef at the corresponding point in the ievel above being ISft. More will be known as regards the development m a few days, but tbe intersection of the EoyaTlode in this new low level contributes additional evidence, if any were needed, ot' the downward continuation and pennanepx-y of the Wjfihi reef . system: itnd" the part af t&is .reef being; intersected at a depth of a thousand feet, the lowest level in the Dominion, shows that, successful deep level mining in New Zealand i 5 something to be reckoned with, and is more than a theoretical dream. Shares in the Waihi Company began to ;mave upwards yesterday, "and this morning sale* "were "made up to 193/. ~ TEMPLE BAR. The manager telegraphed: "TJroke down the reef in the western face of the S"mze. Secured 21bs. of picked stone." -"- - BOSS GOEDPIELDS.-"" - The work of ordering £25,000 worth of plants for the Ross Goldflelds (Ltd.) has been completed by the engineers, Messrs. G. S. Maben, and H. M. Smythe, who returned from England yesterday. This is the alluvial claim at Ross, which the Government subsidised to the extent of £15,000. The Ross Goldfields, Ltd., has a capital of £30,000. iLLXE itAA-AGERS' REPORTS. Rising Sun.—The erossent from the main level is being pushed ahead. Tbe country Is a good deal firmer. Yesterday a reef was intersected: course, about north and . south, underlying to the west. The quartz has a kindly appearance, bnt I cannot say much about it until more work is done on it. The No. 2 winze has been sunk a distance of oft for the week. The reef is well denned, and contains a good deal of "sulphides, and gold is seen freely in the one broken.
Ngatiaw.i.—Owing to a change in the face the bottom level has T>ee~n stopped for the present, and the men put on to hole through to the upper level, so as to open up commnnicaxiori with the part of the mine from whence the best values were obtained in the past-
waihi Extended.—Drlvlns both ways is beii!~-continued on the lode in the intermediate level. Payable stone is coming to hand. A sample from the north-east face £2 1/9. About 30ft has been opened on j the lode at this point. Two shifts are employed sinking the shaft. ~ ; -bouth.erfl Queen.---A crusn'ing of 12 -loads from the rise-~yielded bullion -worth £X& JO/9. As there is. no.particular run of gold in the rise, it being distributed from one! end to the other, a start has been .made to etope thig block of .ground, which is extensive, and intact to the snrface. This should give, regular payable crushings. ■-SHAREMARKET. iSCSESESS DONE Tairua Triumph .■ ~. .". 2/ ■\Vaihi :.....-..... ■.-. .v.. .-;l3a/6, 193/, 192/6 Southern Queen .- '...: .-. v.ljd ; ■Walotati -.-:..;.... ;.;..... .2/10 I dolden Pah 4ld Comstock ..-....;.. 5d Talisman Consolidated 52/6 lairna Golden Hills (p.u 2/9 Waiii Consolidated 1/8 Northern Coal 16/8 -Ta-upiri.
