Acceptances for all events on the opening day of the Avoudale Jockey Club's autumn meeting close with the secretary (Mr. 1L 11. Hayr) to-night at 9 o'clock. A.B.C. WINTER. MEETING. Nominations for the Great Northern Hurdles, Great Northern Steeplechase, and Winter Steeplechase, to be run at the A.R.C. winter meeting, close with the secretary (Mr. 3. P. Hurtland) to-night at 9 o'clock. HOKITIKA RACES. HOKITIKA, this day. After raining all night the weather cleared up for the second day's races, and the attendance promises to be fair. Results:— Miners' Purse Handicap, seven fuulongs. Honyunnju 1, Abydos 2. These were the only starters. Five others were scratched. The going was very heavy. Won comfortably. ENGLISH RACING.
