Navua's departure for the islands has been postponed until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The s.s. Foreric arrived from Sydney yesterday morning, after a passage of seven days 14 hours. THS WADXONINI. The Waikonlnl arrived at Gisborne from Awanui North on Wednesday afternoon, after a prolonged passage. " It's the worst trip I've ever experienced," reported Capt. McDennott. " We've been about five weeks from Auckland." During, the ran rrom Auckland to Awanui, the Watkonini was weather-bound in Whangarei for some days, when a gale of exceptional severity prevailed, and tombstones ajid trees were blown down all round. Similar weather was experienced at Awanui. They left there a fortnight ago. and had a fair run down to tho Barrier, when the gale came on again from the S.W., and Captain McDermott stood his vessel out. but the wind changed round to S.E. During the height of the gnle the fore . and main jib were blown • away, and the scow had to make Mercury Bay as best she could.
