THE WIMMERA DELAYED.

SMALL CRAFT DAMAGED AT NAPiER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, this day. The s.s. Wimmera had a stormy passage from Wellington. She proceeded to Gisborne this moming, and will probably reach Auckland late on Sunday night. The Akaroa Club's four-oajed outrigger was smashed to pieces by a heavy sea breaking aboard. The crew consequently cannot compete in the Champion Fours race. The yachts Gondola, lolanthe, and Eric were sunk, together with Mr. J. Vigor Brown's fine launch. The Fiona, a Wellington yacht, was blown on to the Petane beach. It is not thought that serious damage has been done to any of the boats.
