AQUATICS.

SAILING.

The yachting season is now drawing !to a close, ana it is considered that it will not extend much beyond Easter, which falls somewhat later this season than last. Last Saturday's fixtures passed oil very successfully. A large number of boats started in all the events, and some good racing was witnessed. After the races some of the boats dropped down to the North Shore Yacht Club's picnic at Kohimarama, and afterwards went in to Drunken Bay, where the majority of the fleet spent the week's end. The Kotiri, Heartsease, and Xgatiia, which returned from the North on Sunday last,, experienced rough weather throughout the trip. They reached as far North as Russell. A regatta will be held at Opua on the 2Sth inst. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron., the North Shore Yacht Club, and the Victoria Cruising Club had arranged fixtures for this afternoon. This concludes the racing season so far as the Royals are concerned, but the other clubs have engagements up to the second week in April.
