RESULT OF THE BALLOT. MAJORITY FOR FIRM STAND. (Received 5.39 a.m.) LONDON, March 19. A fresh ballot of the engineers in the North-east o f England by 4356 votes to 3093 rejected the proposed settlement, lavoured resistance of the proposed reduction of wages and refused arbitration.
