The river Namoi at Gunnedah is higher than it has ever been known to be before. Weewaa is completely surrounded, and there has been no communication with the outside world for three days.

Many animals are being washed away at Narrabri, -where the main street is partially under water. All the surxounding district is inundated. (Eeceived 10.49 aan.) BRISBANE, this day. The Brisbane River is subsiding. At Rockhampton and Bundaberg some of the wharves in the law-lying portions of the town are partially submerged. Many other places report that the floods have damaged the railway, and that the mail traffic has been badly disorganised.

IN NORTHERN AUSTRALIA.

A STATION MANAGER'S ADVENTURE. (Received 10 a.m.)

ADELAIDE, this day. Heavy rains have occurred in the far north, and much country has been inundated. The manager of a station at Nydrie took refuge in a tree and remained without food for two days and two nights till the flood subsided.
