HOSPITAL AND DOMAIN.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—The above institution and reserve belong to the public, and are for their good; so why all this rumpus because the Hospital authorities offer to exchange a good site of seven acres for an inferior one of some five acres? Our youth and maidens are constantly on the look-out for level lands to play their out-door games on, such as cricket, hockey, and football, etc. The Hospital will benefit by this exchange, as our population is growing, and the sick and suffering are increasing amongst us, and will be always with us. The additional reserve at Stanley-street will be a valuable acquisition to our Domain, of greater value and area, within a short distance of Queen-street, and of easy access for cricket practice, etc. It might be even available for a bath site, and salt water pumped therein, and it will be invaluable for the Parnell Public School children.—l am, etc., PLEASURE AND PAIN.
