THE PREMIER'S VISIT.

A COUNTRY TOUR. The Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, returned to town from the Ngaruawahia regatta last evening, and left by special train early this morning, in company with his Excellency the Governor, for the Maori meeting at Waharoa. He stays at Hamilton to-night, and to-morrow revisits Ngaruawahia for the purpose of attending another Maori gathering. On Friday he proceeds to Tauranga and thence on to Opotiki, giving public addresses at each centre. He will return to Auckland on Monday next, and before returning to Wellington will make a speech at Onehunga. Sir Joseph will return to Auckland next month, when he will pjy his promised visit to the Kawhia district, where the residents are very anxious to welcome him. The Hon. Jas. Carroll, Native Minister, accompanied the Premier to the Waharoa meeting to-day, and he will also be present at the Ngaruawahia gathering.
