The German schooner Elfride is anchored in the stream in readiness to sail for Samoa. The mission steamer Southern Cross ierthed at Quay-street jetty yesterday. She will be docked befeVe taking her departure for Norfolk Island early next month. The s.s. Manapouri, sailing at five o'clock this evening for the Cook and Society Islands, takes the following passengers-— Mr and Mrs Carter and child, Mr and Mrs Ellis, Messrs H. E. Foster, Bates, dv Temple. The "Lyttelton Times" reports that on Wednesday morning the sale of the threemasted schooner Eunice took place. The purchaser is Mr. T. H. Kerr, of Christchurch, and the vessel will be used in the Havelock-Lyttelton trade. Mr. Mandll, of Gisborne, was the late owner of the Eunice. The schooner Ronga, which, about two and a-half years ago, was picked up as a derelict by the steamer Gertie and towed to Wellington, is being fitted at Plcton with engines. Mr. Perano purchased the Ronga from Mr. E. G. F. Zohrab for a little over £400. The latter bought the vessel from Levin aud Co., who salvaged her with their boat the Gertie.
