SYDNEY, this day. Tamworth is under water and the greatest flood for 25 years is i n progress. It is feared that stock has perished in large numbers oa the low-lying paddocks. BRISBANE, March 15. Over 14 inches of rain has fallen in 24 hours in several districts.
Eleven inches has been registered at Brisbane, which is now inundated.
No details are available, the telegraph lines being interrupted.
A CONSTABLE DROWNED.
TRYING TO SAVE A HORSE.

BRISBANE, this day. Constable Murtagh was drowned at Fortitude Valley while trying to rescue a horse from the flood waters.
