"iThe Daily Mail" states that Herren Beyer and Company, with a capital of thirteen million sterling, and representing Elberfield. Berlin, and other companies, have bought 24 acres in Cheshire, and ■have established an analine factory on 'tile site acquired. . [The Patents and Designs (Consolidation) Act, 1907, places a check on the "system under which foreign manufacturers were enabled to take out patents in the United Kingdom without any intention of working them there. The Act .provides that British patents may be revoked when they are worked exclusively or mainly abroad, unless satisfactory reasons can be given why they are not '.worked in the United Kingdom. The jeport of the Comptroller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks shows 'that ont of a total number of 14,707 patentees to whom patents were granted in ■1906, there were resident: 2595 in America, £091 in Germany, 769 in France, 257 9a Austria-Hungary, 190 in Switzerland, '145 in Canada. 137 in Belgium. 11l in Italy, and 105 in Sweden.] j .-
