HARBOUR BOARD.
Tiie following business was transacted at the meeting of the Harbour Board after we went to press yesterday:— j Anchorage for Vessels with Explosives-— The Board decided with respec* to the anchorage of vessels with explosives to forward a copy of the harbourmasters" report" to the Town Clerk, Devouport. Mr Napier said vessels were in the habit of lying longer than should be allowed, with explosives on board. He considered they should be compelled either to go outside or else store the explosives on the Board's hulk. Tenders. —The following tenders were received for the formation of the roadway across ileehan's Bay (engineer's estimate £640): —Colson and Eann, £012 9/4- J Larkin, £723; A. Ross, £618 2/6; G. Knight, £736 9/G; H. S. "Wilson. £719 3/3. Messrs Colson and Rann's tender was accepted. Steam Tug.—The Board opened twentythree tenders received for the steam tv" the only one within the Dominion beta" from a Dunedin firm. The prices were alternative, as many as eight being sent in by some firms. The various prices submitted ranged from £12,000 odd up to £23.000 odd.
