DISCHARGED PRISONERS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.; WELLINGTON, this day. One of the chief aims of the Wellington Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society is to find' work ,for those Iwho after leaving ga*ol apply to it for assistance in getting on their feet again, and there is no doubt I that in this respect it has been signally successful. One man who had served a fairly lengthy sentence is now, as a result of the society's aid, holding a position as manager af a Southern mill at a salary of £5 per week, another ex-prisoner was so far assisted to rehabilitate himself that he is now an officer on a ship in the Mercantile Marine; while a third, a young man, recently communicated with the secretary,. stating that he had just received good employment in London.. ■■ - f
