After a conference between the Timber terehants' Association and a deputation E the strikers and representatives of ie other: unions interested, the ;announceient was officially made to-night that iere are good prospects of an immediate sttlement of the trouble. A further conference will take.place totorrow,, aiid it is, understood that the , roposal;is to submit the trouble to arbi--ation, each side appointing a represenitive, with an/umpire. ■ ■ - . All the Newcastle collieries are workig to-day, and consequently the Special ourt has resumed its sittings. _
