The Hospital Board raised a loan oi £25,000 in 1905 for certain of the works in the extension scheme. That amount has been over-spent to the extent of £2.250, according to a report presented to the Board yesterday by the secretary. This was largely due to extras, the claim on the sanitary towers being some £900 in this regard. The works in progress included the infirmary ward, on which £4,578 15/6 had been paid, leaving from the original estimate £761 15/9 for the completion of the ■ contract; the sanitary towers £3,235 • 18/; unexpended £2,289 3/; Costley ; wards extension expended £3,317 17/9; - unexpended £5,281 2/3. The finished j contracts include:—lnfectious wards', 3 '£5,9737/6; manager's house £669 7/6; 5 Eiplmg-avenue £325 16/11; DomettJ avenue £583-6/3;
