BRETT'S ALMANAC.
I . i Brett's Auckland Almanac and Diary for the year 190S has now been published. The volume contains all the leatures which have made it so popular in the past, including a diary of 100 pages, a calendar giving anniversaries, iestivais, and the dates of remarkable events, the times of high-water, suii-rise and sun-set. The statistical summary contains information compiled in a concise form from the latest Government returns, dealing with all matters cf colonial importance. The section devoted to the provincial district of Auckland deals at length with public buildings and institutions, the gold mining industry, tourist and health resorts, etc. A valuable portion of the book is that containing the names of all settlements of any size in the province, with their distances from Auckland. A complete list is given of the arrival and departure of mails throughout the provincial district, together with the postal and telegraph regulations. A comprehensive directory is included giving details of the administrative departments | both in Wellington and in Auckland. Fully revised lists are also given of law practitioners, justices of the peace, industrial unions of employers and employees, meracntile and manufacturing companies, volunteer companies, medical practitioners, the various bodies of the clergy, friendly societies and the many clubs and societies of all kinds in the City. The book is now on sale at the "Star" office and all stationers and book-sellers.
