Mander>o Jackson's Rooms, Customs : street East, to-morrow at 11 o'clock, when three dairy- farms of 132 acres, 174 acres and 23S acres each will be submittedj and-it- is anticipated there will be keen competition. Good progress is being made with the work of laying the tram lines along -Mt. Eden Road, and already' the bridge at the railway station bas been reached. Tt is. estimated thai; another month should see this section of the contract completed ' Work bas been held back somewhat owing to delay in the supply of stone cubes from, the other side. A fair number were supplied from Drury, but unfortunately not enough to prevent the need of importing cubes from Australia. The labour trouble in Australia by delaying the departure of vessels " made -the supplies ordered from Australia late in . arriving bere, and now all possible despatch is being made with the work of laying the cubes. Messrs. Mays" and Gordon, the contractors for the formation of the road, are also at work, and it is quite evident that when both contracts are completed, Mt. Eden Road will be greatly improved both in grade, and appearance. There is still great activity among the geysers at Whakarewarev/a. On Tuesday afternoon the Prince of Walts' Feather geyser commence! erupting, played throughout the afte_nooa, and until 8.30 o'clock at night. The cauldron (Te Horn) was also very active and at 7.15 erupted, sending its water to heights varying from 10 to 25 feet, continuing this for 32 minutes and overilowed for 26 minutes. The cauldron has no; overflowed for some time prior to Tuesday afternoon. I'ehutu commenced to play at 7.44 at night, and ceased at 8.20 o'clock. For the first six minutes this geyser shot the water to a height of 90 feet, aud afterwards continued to send its stream of boiling liquid to heights varying from 40 to 50 feet. The display was" a very tine one, and the pity of it is it did not take place early in the aiternoon. ■ " 1
