Haynes, will represent the local Political Labour League at the conference to be held at Ohristchui-ch after Cnrdstnrae. A PATENT SLIP. WELLINGTON, this day. It is rumoured that the patent slip has been bought by the Union Company. Both the Uas Company and th? Harbour Board have been endeavouring to 1 acquire it recently, but without success. It is in Evans' Bay, and close to , the proposed reclamation on which it is hoped room will be found for Wellington's foundries and other industries requiring space. It can deal with vessels up to 2000 tons. WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD APPOINTMENTS. WELLINGTON, this day. As the result of Mr. Ferbuson's resignation, the Wellington Harbour Board has decided to promote certain members of its staff .and to give them acting appointments for one year, subject after that date to three months' notice. The promoted officers are Mr. H. E. Nicholls, accountant and cashier, to be acting secretary, at a salary of £650; Mj. E. D. Cachemaille, assistant engineer, to be acting engineer, at £600; Mr. V. L. Cachemaile, from assistant secretary to acting treasurer, at £300; Mr. J. E. Gamble, second clerk, to be assistant cashier and acting accountant and cashier, at £300.
