A special meeting of the Remuera Road Board was held last evening, when the question of ascertaining the Board's position by legal process as to the extension of the tram service to Victoriaavenue and Mountain-road, and the continuance of the feeder omnibus service was discussed. There was a large attendance of ratepayers. The chairman (Mr. J. S. Dickson) moved that the Board take no action till the expiration of three years as no breach had yet been committed of the deed of delegation. Mr. Bevins seconded. Mr. Bond contended that a breach had already been committed in the failure to carry out the Mountain-roid extension, and moved that action be taken forthwith to determine the Board's position. Mr. Cawkwell seconded. The amendment was put to the meeting and lost, and the motion to take no action carried.
