King Haakon of Norway celebrated his 35th birthday recently. It was 11 years on the 22nd of August since he married Princess Maud in the private chapel of Buckingham Palace. Their only son, the little Crown Prince of Norway, 'was born at Appleton House, Sandringham on July 2, four years ago. King Haakon is to-day the handsomest Sovereign in Europe, and his son one of the most popular princes. _The Queen of Norway is loved throughout her husband's dominions.
