At the request of the Otago Rowing Association, the council of tbe New Zealand body appointed a committee to go into the question of how the tariff affects sports. Imported boats now. pay 20 per cent duty, whereas they used to be free. The particular hardship is where clubs had ordered boats before. the tariff was altered. Messrs. Coffey arid Isaacs were appointed delegates to the New Zealand Sports' Federation 'meeting at Christchurch.
