A serious accident to an :: Austrian, whose name is unknown, occurred about four miles from here yesterday.'' While making a cigarette" he : rested a loaded gun, muzzle dowh_ on the instep of''one foot, and placed*the stock of the gun under his armpit. The gun went Off accidentally, and the charge went clean through! the man's' foot" and into 'the ground.- He had been bleeding for:over two houT3 when he was.brought to!_aurimu, and he suffered greatly after.- He was attended to by "Dr.-Roget,-andwas then sent on to Taxtmarunui by special train.
