The attendance was up to the average. The racing was good, although a lot of interest was taken out of the pony galloping events by we fact that several of the entrants failed to get under the. standard, consequently were unable to start Apart from the pony events the. fields were good, the adjustments of Mr Edwards, the handicapper, giving general satisfaction. Mr Ike Hill officiated as judge, Messrs Geo. Read and F. w Edwards as timekeepers, and Mr C. O Connor as .starter, the latter gentlemau oeing in good form. One noticeable feature about the fathering was that the events were got off well to advertised time, while the general conduct of the afternoon sport by the secretary (Mr C. F. Mark) and the various officials left nothing to be desired, uuring the afternoon the machines, under Messrs Bloomfield and Co., handled the sum of £2725, which is an increase of £201 10/ on last year's amount. Spring Handicap Trot of 60sovs, second lOsovs two miles.—2o3, Mr Mclndoe's blk m Love, aged, Lynbrook—Kola, scratch (Uuncan) 157, General Election, 6s (Crotty), 2; 125, Duke C, scratch (Herbert), 3. Also started: 166, All Night, 8s; 227, Huon Leal, 9s; 56, Redleaf, lis. Redleaf from the limit had charge for about five furlongs, when he broke badly, and Duke C ran into the lead, but soon lost his position, Lady Love leading him ns they went through the dip, while General Election also passed him a little further on. Making no mistakes, Lady Love easily maintained her advantage, eventually winning easily by two lengths from General Election, which defeated Duke C. by a similar distance for second honours. All Night was fourth. Time, 5.16. Dividends. £1 7/ and £1 12/. Middle Class Trot of 30sovs, second Ssovs one and a-half miles.—lls, Mr W. A. Scott's b g rnkerimu, aged. Rothschild— Waikare, 9s (Scott). 1; 44, Black Diamond, 4s (Hall), 2; 87, Little Paul, 7s (Brady), 3. Also started: 39. Huon Leal, scratch; 21, Seacole, 6s; 63, Wilhelmina, 7s; 15, Bert 7s; 176, Flora Mac, 10s: 21. Slteve Galleon, 12s; 23, Daydawn, 12s: 11, Plaintiff, 15s. Pukerlmu got to the front before they had gone a couple of furlongs, and showed the way past the stand from Bert aud Little Paul. Going along the back the second time Black Diamond ran Into second position, and was almost on terms with Pukerimu when the straight was reached, but a little further on broke up, and although she was quickly iato her stride again, she could not quite get np, Pukerimu winning by n length. Little Paul was third, three lengths away. Time, 4.7 4-5. Dividends, £1 16/ and £1 11/.

Stewards' Trot Handicap of 35sovs, second 5 soys, one and a-half mile.—s4. Mr J. T. Paul's b g Baxter, aged. King Harold Unknown, 7s (Paul). 1; 136, Taihoa, 4s (McElwain), 2; 215. Robex, scratch (Scott), 3. Also started: 59, Kohine, 9s; 66, Lissie Bheg. 10s. Kohine showed the way to the dip. where Baxter headed him, and led past the stand, followed by Taihoa and Robex. Going along the back the second time Robex ran up to Baxter, and the pn.r raced in company till the mile post was reached, when Robex broke, leaving Baxter in the lead, while Taihoa moved up into second position. In the run to the post Taihoa made a great effort, but was unable to roach Baxter, which won by a length and a-half, with Robex three lengths further back, third. Time, 4.2 3-5. Dividend. £4 8/.

Experimental Handicap of 30sovs, second ssovs; one and a-lialf mile.—ls7, Mr. C. Hannlgan's b g Cleveland's Pride, aged, Cleveland—Unknown, 13s (Crotty), 1; 141, Little Paul, 15s (Brady), 2; 83, Janitor, 21s (I'aul), 3. Also started: 35, Duke C, scratch; 28, Miss Tuxie, 4s; 33, Miss Huon, 13s; 73, lago, ISs; 80, Agnes B, ISs; 19, Fibre, 19s; 41, Slievc Gallion, 19s; 21, Plaintiff, 225. Plaintiff acted the part of pacemaker till they reached the dip, where Janitor got in front; but soon gave way to Little Paul, the latter piloting the field past the stand, jnst clear of Janitor. Going along the back Cleveland's Pride threaded his ■nay through, and was on terms with Little Paul as they turned for home, when the latter got up, nDd Cleveland's Pride trotting steadily, won by two lengths, with Janitor a length further back, third. Time, 4.7. Dividends, £1 10/ and 11/.

October Handicap of 30sovs, second osovs; five furlongs.—l9l, Mr. J. H. Howe's br g Dr. Quest, aged, Soult—Nelsorlna, 7.0 (Brown), 1; GO3, Hughle, 8.4. Conquest, 2; 238, Waihou, 9.13 (Ackroy'd), 3. Also started: IBS, Octoroon, 8.10; 36, Balgonle, 7.3. Waihou gave a bit of trouble at the post, but eventually the barrier lifted to an even start, from which the colours of Dr. Quest were first prominent, followed by Hughle and 'Waihou. Galloping in good style, Dr. Quest never let the field near him, winning at the finish by three lengths from Hughle, which was a length and a-half in front of Waihou. Time, 1.5 3-5. Dividend, £2 19/. Electric Trot Handicap of 40sovs, second ssovs; one mile.—B2, Mr. W. Douglas' gr m Black Bess, aged; Wilmington—Unknown, 21s (Hamilton), 1; 110, Colenso, 14s (Pollock), 2; 22, Miss Tuxle, 12s (Austin), 8, Also started: 34, Kohine, 14s; 11, Lißsio Bhog, 15s; 345, Black Rose, 18s; 84, Wilhelmina, 19s; 147, Agnes B, 21s. Black Bess was the first of the limit horses to settle to her work, and was never headed, winning at the finish by four lengths from 1 Colenso, which was three parts of a length in front of Miss Tuxie.
