In the Jacques match, Purnell (Wanganui) was seventh, and won £2, and Craw (.Canterbury), W. N. Masefield, and Speck, £1 each. In the 'Sydney match Ayson was seventh, and won £2; Craw, Cameron (Opaki), Judd (Karori), Muggridge (Palmerston North), and Mills (Dunedin), £1 each. (Received 10.32 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. At the Rifle Association Meeting, in the Longfleld Aggregate (317 prize 3 of. a total value of £600), the New Zealand winners included Purnell, who won £2, and Specks, Muggridge, and A. The New Zealanders, Judd, Muggridge, Masefield, Moslem, Wilkie, and Hadfield won £1 each in the Dangar Match of 000 yards, 15 shots (one hundred prizes of a total value of £150). N.S.W. SYDNEY, October 22. At a conference of the Chambers of Manufacturers of the Commonwealth, the President said that manufacturers would welcome preferential trade with 'Great Britain. German and American firms bad exploited Australia for all it was worth. This had been none too pleasing to many Australian traders, but some British traders seemed hardly alive to the possibilities of a little work and attention.
