AMUSEMENTS.
ALIDA LOMAN. |. To-night the last Loman concert takes place at His Majesty's Theatre. This will be the last opportunity to bear this most delightfully voiered singer and arist. A popular and attractive new programme will be given. THE WARWICK BIOSCOPE. There was a good attendance at the Royal Albert Hall last night, when the Warwick Bioscope Co. presented a change of programme. The new pictures included a series entitled "Life in the Zoological Gardens, London," which created a deal or interest. An exciting capture by brigands formed the subject of another capital picture, and other items which found favour with the audience included, "The Plastic Dancers," "Lost in the Snovr," "The Story of a London Matchseller," "Marriage a Failure," etc. Musical items were rendered by Miss E. Norden, and Messrs F. Shaw "and C. Waud. A matinee performance" was given this afternoon, and the season will conclude with to-night's entertainment. OPERA HOUSE. A new programme will be presented at the Opera House t<vnight. when Athas, the trick skater, will appear, and Delavale and Gilbert are down for a comical boxing act. THE COMING PICTURE DRAMA. Messrs Mae_lahon's latest attraction, which will inaugurate the New Zealand season at His Majesty's Theatre, Auck- | land, on Tuesday evening next, is due to arrive here to-morrow from Sydney by the Waikare. The organisation comprises a skilled staff, and all the latest equipment for the reproduction in action of living pictures, delineating the stirring scenes and incidents of li.o]f Boldrewood's famous story, "Robbery Under Arms." The successful accomplishment of the work has been very highly eulogised in Sydney, where the first private view was given during last week. The inclusion in the organisa Uon of those ever favourite artists, Mr Howard Vernon and Miss Vinia De Loitte, who, -with others, will produce a special operatic sketch entertainment, cannot fail to give great gratification to their numberless admirers in New Zealand. It is announced that matinees will be given each Saturday, and that the box plans are now open at Messrs Wildman and Arey's. TORRENS' DRAMATIC COMPANY. The George Torrens' Dramatic Company performed "In Old Virginia" last night at St. George's Hall to a fair audience. This American military drama was put on in a way which was evidently appreciated by those present, the various exciting situations being well depicted by the company. Music was provided by a really good orchestra, conducted by Mr Max Parkes. ST. SEPULCHRE'S. HALL. A successful entertainment was given in the St. Sepulchre's Hall last night in aid of the funds for the Sunday-school annual treat. There was a good attendance, and the entertainment was much-enjoyed. Items were contributed by Misses Dawson, and Garland and Pierce, and Messrs. Djjson, Fairburn Lambert, and Irving, and Masters Kent and Wilson.
