McCULLOUGH'S SUSPENSION.

INDIGNATION MEETING IN CHRISTCHURCH

CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. A large open-air public meeting was held in Cathedral Square this afternoon for the purpose of protesting against the suspension of Mr J. A. McCullough. Strong speeches were made condemning the action of the Government, and the following motion was carried:— "That this meeting expresses an emphatic protest against the harsh and arbitrary manner in which Mr McCullough has been suspended from the Government service, and that this meeting has no faith in the Ward Ministry." The meeting concluded with cheers for McCullough and groans for the Premier.
