EPSOM PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The annual social and business gathering of the Epsom Presbyterian Church was held last Friday night. The church ■was -well filled by members and their friends. The Key. D. D. Scott, ALA. (Moderator), Qnehnnga, presided, in company with the Key. W. Trotter (late of Bannoekburn, Scotland) and the Res. K. F. Macnicol. Encouraging reports were presented and read by Messrs W. Lane (secretary managing committee) t Littlejohn (for the Ladies' Guild), and J. J. Ker (superintendent Sunday school). The following gentlemen were elected to the management committee for the ensuing year: — Messrs. Crawford,, Amhury, Halliday, Ker, Bell, Haydon, Dinnison, McLean and Lane (secretary and treasurer). Refreshments w-ere provided by the members of the Ladies' Guild, and musical items contributed by the choir, under Mr Littlejohn, a quartet by Mrs Scott, Miss Ambury and Messrs Littlejohn and Dinnison, axd solos by Miss Ambury and Miss Nellie Biggs. An interesting address "was given by the new minister, the Rev W. Trotter, who was heartily received- Special votes of thanks were accorded to retiring members of the committee, Messrs John Burns, Worrall and Captain Scott. During the evening Mr J.. J. Ker, in feeling and appropriate terms presented the retiring minister, the Key. E. F. Macnicolj with a purse of sovereigns as a slight expression of the esteem and regard in which he is held by the members of the.church. Mr Macnicol suitably replied.
