SCOW WAIKONINI ASHORE.

The scow Waikonini is the vessel reported yesterday to be ashore at Pakiri. Messrs. W. and G. Winsione, Ltd., the owners of the vessel, have received a telegram from the master, Captain McDermott, -who says that the vessel is ashore in a safe position, and the crew are all safe. The owners have forwarded a telegram to the captain asking him if he considers it necessary to have gear sent up to launch, the vessel. No reply had been .received up to a late hour to-day, and from tbis the owners surmise that Captain MeDermott and the crew are endeavouring to float the vessel themselves, and Messrs. Winstone and Co., state that they have been informed that there is a sandy beach where the vessel is ashore. It is not known whether she was driven ashore or was beached.
