TRENTHAM TRAINING NOTES.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The weather was cold and frosty for training operations this morning at Trentham. The going was fair before the thaw, but was slow later on. Ellerton was first out, and galloped half a mile in a shade over 545. De Witte and Clanchattan shaped nicely, as did Master Leslie, VVallasy. Scenery, Bonheur. Intelligence, and Medallist. Stayboy beat Tearai and' Kaipetipeti over a mile. Merriwai got home first from St. Albert and Waipu in a gallop over a like distance. Montlgo did long work, but looks too much on the big side to run well for a while. A large number of horses which have recently arrived put in half-pace aud walking esprcise. Anratus has been scratched for all engagements.
