THE CASE OF ANDY CUMMINGS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I am pleased to see that Mr. Garland's letter re help for "A Deserving Case " has met with some response, and sincerely hope that it will continue. I had the pleasure of being with Mr. Cummings immediately before and after, his last two operations: and I have never seen anyone who " faced the music" more bravely than he did. For that alone I consider he should have a generous support, especially from all sportsmen. He is practically an abstainer, and therefore the money raised will not be squandered, but be used in a judicious manner. From what I know of him, he himself will be best able to use it to the very best advantage.
When last I spoke to him, in Queenstreet, he told mc he was suffering pain, yet to look at him, he seemed as bright as ever. He is not the man to carryhis trouble or pains on his sleeve, which! makes some people think his case is not what it really is: "A Deserving Case.", —I am, etc., F. E. R.
