ARRIVAL Oil THE BULGER .UNION TEAM. The representatives of the -Buller Rugby Football Union, who play the Auckland reps, at Alexandra Park on Saturday next, arrived in Auckland somewhat unexpectedly by the s.s. Manapouri at 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon, and a,re staying at the Imperial Hotel. They spent the evening at Fuller's entertainment, and to-day practised at Alexandra Park. The team possess a solid forward division, but the backs are on tie light side. The forwards include V. Marshall, who has represented the Buller Union for 19A years, while W. D. MePike, who represented Auckland in 1899 and 1900, will play centre three-quarter.' Mr. W. Bright is manager. of the team/ which includes 19 players. Their colours are cardinal and blue. The captain,. J. McNally, in a chat with a "Star" representative, said that the team -is a fairly strong combination, its members are in good form, and they are confident of putting up a good fight for the Ranfurly Shield. Their principal object in travelling is to let the New Zealand-Rugby Union see that there .is such a Union as the Buller,- which hitherto has been ignored. They consider that they have in their ranks several players as good as .those under any other union. Denneby, who played forward in the.lnterisland match last year and was picked as a South Island emergency this, was unable to make the trip. Following is the team for Saturday's match. Full-back: 8..
