The s-s. Haupiri left for East Coast boys, Gisboine, Napier, ana Wellington at 9 a.m. to-day. She called at Drunken Bay this morning to adjust her compasses.

The s-s: Waikare has dropped out of'the intercolonial running, and lier place has been taken by the Mokoia, which had a new tail shaft fitted at Lyttelton recently. The Slckoia is due to arrive at Auckland on Sunday, and sails for Sydney the following day.

The Marine Department, says an exchange, encouraged by the prospects for the future of Karamea, will shortly erect a fixed light at the entrance to that port, an"d two leading lights are to be put up for guiding vessels in. This will enable the bar to be worked at night. Tenders hare been called for the erection of a residence for the local signalman.

A Gazette notice states that on and after July Bth, ISO 7, two new beacon lights will be brought .into use within the Napier harbour. Owing to the bad,, weather, the Tyser steamer Sta.r of Australia has been delayed at the roadstead ports, and is not expected to arrive here until Saturday nexx. This steamer loads cargo at Auckland for London, and is to sail for that port direct about Monday evening next.

THE NEW 'FRISCO SERVICE.

The Dunedin "Star' state that Mesrs. Ma-ckerras, Hazlett, and Co. advise sailings of the new steam service between beattle and Sydney, via San Francisco and Auckland, have been fixed as follows: Foreric, 6600 tons, on August 10; Aymeric, 7300 tons, September; 10; Boveric, 7500 tons, October 10; Inveric, 7500 tons, November 10; Gymeric, 5600 tons, December 10- Tymeric, 5700 tons, January 10.
