Downfall of Count Erabanberg

BERLIN, June 3.
The German newspapers report the downfall a£ Count yon Eulenberg, long a powerful fjwourite at the German Court. Count Caprivi"s downfall wa3 due to his influence; and it is alleged that he recently plotted against Prince wn Buclow, the present Imperial Chancellor.
IConnt yon Eulenberg played a prominent part in the German politics of the early nineties, and' one of the chief features ,pf his ascent to power was his Sostility to as well as mere rivalry of Count yon Caprivi. The power of this last statesman was short-lived. He had succeeded Prince Bismarck as Chancellor on March 19, IS9O, and it was barely two years later that he surrendered the office at Prussian Prime Minister to his ambitions rival, retaining for a time the offices of Chancellor and Minister for Foreign affairs. In 1892 and 1893 Caprivi conducted the German Army Bills suceessfnlly through Parliament, but resigned all office unexpectedly in October, 1894, owing to friction with Count Eulenberg in the matter of the Agrarian.
