At E. A. Perkins and Co.'s auction sale to-day a seven-roomed house and three-quarter acre section at Mount RosTdll sold for £350. The other properties failed to reach .the reserve. An octnpus, thrown up on the beach at Westport, a few days ago, measured nine feet round the body, and had tentacles ranging from five to twenty-hvo feet long.
