j SYDNEY, September 25. I It is evident from the police discoveries i that two or more burglars were engaged ii; the attempt on the English and Scotl tisli Bank on Sunday. Despite the fact I that the robbers had to traverse a considerable length of roof to reach the bank, and make the eleotric connection, the police are without, clue. Colour is lent to the theory that American "cracksmen 1 ' took a hand in the affair by the statement that three well-known criminals escaped from prison at the time of the San Francisco earthquake, and have landed in Sydney within the la3t fortnight.
