A division was taken, the hilarity beinij continued, vrhen the chairman announced that there wer<> 21 votes tor Mr. •Ji-.inin:r=" motion, and 20 against it. Mr. MeKenzie. after taking a ■•urnri.sed look at rhe division list, raised an objvction. He had voteu. but hui name did .i«Jt appear on the ust. The Hon. Mr. Carroll said he had voted "no" aiso. and his name did not appear on the list. There was much grabbing of wrong hats, to eomp:y with one of the forms of the House during a merry passage over the errors of tellers, whilst Messrs. McKenzie and Carroli were criticised for not havins jone into the lobby. Eventually thf> "tellers corrected the list, and the appeal to the Speaker was lost by 22 to 21 votes. A mraber of further amendments of an obstructive character were indicated after this division, and as three houre had passed with the adoption of but i three more words of the bill, its wearied promoter moved, at 10.25 o'clock, to report progress, which was agreed to. ——— __
