MEDICAL INSPECTION OF VESSELS.

In reply to a question by Mr. Poole yesterday, as to whether the Minister for Public Health would take steps to expedite the medical clearance of vesseLs arriving from overseas, the Hon. Geo. Fowlds stated that so far as he wa.s aware no imdne delay had taken place in the clearing of ships from oversea by reason of the neglect of the Health Department. If the hon. member would state a specific instance, he would have i pleasure in inqu_r_ig into it. Mr. Poole said that people naturally expected pratique to be granted wi&fc __. ! pedition.
