Public notice is hereby given that the Mount Kden Borough Council, in pursuance of its powers under "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," "The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act,lSßs," •Tiie Hating Act, 1894," and all other powers enabl- ; ing it In that behalf, inteiads on THURSDAY, the 4th day of October, 1906, to make and levy for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1905> and ending on the 31st day of March, 1907, viz.—A General Rate of Three Farthings in the £ for general purposes; a separate rate for Charitable Aid purposes of One-Sixth of a Penny in tbe £; a Special Rate for Lighting Purposes of One-Eighth of a Penny in the £; on all ratable properties within the Borough of Mount Eden, the above mentioned Rates to be payable with the Special Ajmual Recurring Rates, to provide interest oh water loans, ylsi. — For No. 1 Loan, a Special Rate of One-Eig*_t_» of a Penny in the £ for the year ending December :51st, 1900, on all ratable properties in No. 1 Special Water District only; for No. 2 Loan, a Special Rate of One Farthing in the £ for the year ending March 31st, 1907, on all ratable properties in the No. 2 Special Water District only; ail the -mentioned Rates and the Non-Consumers Rates to be payable in one sum on the Ist day of November, 1906. to the Collector appointed by the Borough Council, at the Office of the Council, in Ift. Eden-rd. The estimates upon..which.the rates are being struck having been approved by the Council, are open for inspection in the Council's Office, wp.et£ the Rate Books will he open for inspecti-u by ratepay-ers during office hotrrs. And notice is further given that the Mount Eden Borough Council, in pursuance of the powers under "The -Municipal Corporations Act, 1IHXI," "The Kating Act, 18U4," and all other powers enabling it iv that he-' half, intends on THURSDAY, tho 4th day of October. 190(1. to make and levy for the year commencing on the first day of July, 190(3, aud ending on the 30th day of June, 1907, jhe following Water Kates In respect to ordinary' supply:—Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied whose annual ratable vaiue as appearing on the Valuation .Roll does not exceed £1_ 10/, a Rate of 10 per cent; exceeds £__ 10/ but does not exceed £IS, a Rate of S per cent per annum on such value; exceeds £18 but does not exceed £30 per annum, a Kate of 4 per cent per annum, but not less than IS/ per annum for any tenement; exceeds £30 per aunoni, a Rate of 3. per cent per annum but not less than -4/ per annum for any tenement. Provided that ln no case 6hail the maximum charge for domestic use exceed 5 per cent per ananm. The said Kates to be payable in two equal half-yearly Instalments—the iirst upon the first day of July, 1906, and the second upon the first day of January, 1907, to tfcse Collector appointed by the Council.
