Complaint from Waitemata Coniicll. —The clerk to tlii: Waitemata County Council wrote stating that at a recent sitting of a 1:07 a! Commissioner appointed at the desire «f Grey L.ynn borough Council to inquire iuto the allocation of £UU, the cost of deflation of tlie Great North-roud to the County Council, the County Council was astonished to and that the City Council wore the real prosecutors* although, their allocation had mouths before been agreed m. The case was pressed with almost per-
sonal feeling by tlie city representatives, Messrs Wilson (Town Clerk), Bush (engineer), and Cotter (solicitor). The County Council desired to bring under the notice of the City Council the lack of tact and taste thus displayed 111 view of the benellts the city has received tram tue taking of county lauds fur watershed purposes und the untaxed use of the county ronds for their heavy traffic.—The Town Clerk reported on the matter, and stated that the Council was cited to appear at the inquiry. The amount involved was not largo, but Hi" decision woulil affect ruture liability.—■ Resolved to reply in terms ol the Town Cert's reply.
New Warehouse. — A letter from Messrs and Co. Inquired as to the Intended level of Moore-street, a:iU the likeli--hood of the Federal-street levels being cut witiuu the next ttve months, with a view .to .their plans acordiugly of proposed new warehouse at thj. , corner of Cus-.toms-street extending round federal-street to Moore-street.—The engineer recommended that this important matter should be referred to the Streets Committee.—Agreed to.
Kxtension i>r Sewer.—Mr K. M. Watt, on, behalf or Mr \V. WlnsTone, Mr Gen. Winstono, and Messrs VV. and Li. Winstone, applied for an extension ot the Upper Sy-lnoiids-stroet sewer to make it available idr their various tenements.—Oil the recommendation or the engineer the matter was referred to the. Stivers Committee.
freeman's Bay Sewer. —A resolution ot the Auckland Harbour Board was Xorwarded l>y the secretary unking the Conncil to definitely decide us u> the diversion of the Freeman's Bay sewer, in order that the work nf reclamation niiirul be pursued without delay.—The engineer reported that the diversion would involve considerable expenditure.—Keferred *Cv Srrec:s Committee.
