A man known as Bert Clayton, but whose, real name was Mackay, died in the Waikato Hospital as the result of injuries received some days ago through a loaded truck running over him at the King Country rail-way works. An inquest, was held at the hospital this morning by the coroner (Mr. Bond),' and a verdict was returned that death was caused by gangrene, the result of an accident, no blame being due to anyone. The jury added a rider asking th<* coroner to bring to tile notice of the Government the need of better provision for dealing with sick persons in the King Country.
