THE LAND SCANDALS.

Departmental Reorganisation. SYDNEY, August 16. In the Assembly yesterday the Secretary for Lands (Mr. Ashton) introduced a bill for th creating of a Commission to administer the Lands Department. The Chief Commissioner is to receive £1500 annually, and the two others £1000 each. They are to have the sole control of the Department, but the final decision rests with the Minister. Under the bill, land agents have to register and their charges are to be taxable.
